Barber Motorsports Track (Birmingham AL) There's a new track in town - in Birmingham! You've probably heard about it, and now you'll have a chance to drive it. We've been invited to join the RPM Autosport Group (www.rpmautosport.com) for a day at the track. They'll have no more than 40 cars for the day (which is a fairly small group for that large a track) in three run groups. Novices are welcome and there will be a special "lead-follow" time to introduce them to the track. Barber is an expensive track to rent, and the fee per car is $450. There are up to 15 spots available for Ferraris if we get them filled quickly; the other spots are taken by mostly Porsches, Miatas and BMWs who are part of the RPM Group. Some of our Ferrari guys have run with the RPM group before, though it's primarily "invitation only" if you're not part of their group. If you'd like more info about the Barber track, Click Here and at the bottom of the page that comes up, the "Turn a Lap" link will let you see the layout and give you info about how to run it, and you can even see an in-car video of the track so you get a feel for it. | Barber Motorsports Track (Birmingham AL) There's a new track in town - in Birmingham! You've probably heard about it, and now you'll have a chance to drive it. We're running a joint event with the RPM Autosport Group (www.rpmautosport.com) for a day at the track. We'll have no more than 45 cars for the day (which is a fairly small group for that large a track) in three run groups. Novices are welcome and there will be a special "lead-follow" time to introduce them to the track. Barber is an expensive track to rent, and the fee for FCA members' Ferraris or Maseratis is $385 per car. Other FCA member cars are $425, and non-members are $450 per car. Second drivers or guests are $20 per person. There are up to 25 spots available for Ferraris; the other spots are taken by mostly Porsches, Miatas and BMWs who are part of the RPM Group. If we have enough Ferraris, we'll have our own run group. Ferrari of Atlanta will be have a display and hospitality booth. For event reservations (required) for this event, contact Mike Charness mike@fca-se.com or by phone at 256-880-2277. The fun continues Saturday morning on the track; lunch will be available at the VIR concession stand. Our traditional “top only” concours will be held this year during Saturday’s lunch.
